about

This EP is dedicated to the goddess Hestia, and in tradition with Greek syncretism, the other names she's associated with. Hestia is the goddess of the hearth, and thus the right order of domesticity and community are her domains. For this reason, I couldn't think of a better deity to evoke in relation to comfy synth. The last track, Xenia, is the Greek law/custom of offering protection and hospitality to guests and strangers, something just as important to Hestia as it was to Zeus. To me, the comfy synth community represents an appreciation for home, family, memory, and community. These are frequent themes in the genre. If your hearth is in need of warming, if your home requires more welcoming energy, I encourage you to play these tracks and invite this energy into your abode.
