Inspired by The Magician's Nephew, the first book in the Chronicles of Narnia novel series, "CHARN" is a piano dirge for the dead city of Charn. "The deplorable world' has been recognized as a metaphor for WMDs and the story of Charn as a critique of authoritarianism. This felt especially poignant in our current Dark Age, where old magical traditions become increasingly popular to the disaffected, and governments veer ever nearer to plutocracy and fascism. I'd highly encourage everyone to read the Wikipedia page for the city's reference in the book, as it's an especially unique and allegorical part of the bigger story.
